J. Crandall (Del) Foster

Attorney at Law - Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning, and Trust Law

John (Del) Crandall Foster is a lifelong resident of Morgan Hill. He earned his J.D. and graduated with Honors from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, Sacramento in 1990. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Foster served in the U.S. Navy as a judge advocate for almost five years. Mr. Foster is a Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law. His practice focuses primarily on estate planning, probate, and trust administration with an emphasis on real estate and small business planning.
As a certified legal specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law, Mr. Foster is required to take many additional hours per year in this area of expertise.  Not only does this include estate planning, but also includes the administration of estate and trust after incapacity or death. As a certified specialist, he is always very aware of the changing legal, tax, and financial landscape through his continuing education and focuses on his clients' needs today and into the future.
For Mr. Foster, estate planning is personal. Mr. Foster lost his first wife, Donna, to cancer after 25 years of marriage and four children. Mr. Foster is now married to Pamella and has a blended family with two step-children in that marriage. Mr. Foster’s personal experience of a solid marriage, a long illness, and the death of his first wife, followed by remarriage, has impacted how he views estate planning and its application to a variety of situations.  Mr. Foster believes that each situation is unique and strives for an approach to estate planning that achieves his clients’ goals
Mr. Foster is a strong supporter of community involvement. Mr. Foster was a member of the Morgan Hill Unified School Board for two terms, including two years as President, and he has served three years on the Board for Leadership Morgan Hill. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill and has served as Club President. He now serves on the Board for the Rotary Club of Morgan Hill Endowment. Mr. Foster also served as a trustee on the Board for the Morgan Hill United Methodist Church.
